TourniTek
The first pre-hospital treatment for limb-threatening injuries
TourniTek preserves injured limbs in the field using therapeutic cooling until patients can be transported to definitive surgical care. By treating these injuries prior to surgical care, TourniTek may aid in the prevention of amputation and permanent disability.
Why TourniTek?
Tourniquets are used to save lives by stopping blood loss resulting from an injury—but they also restrict oxygen to the limb, which may lead to severe tissue damage and amputation.
While there are similar technologies to TourniTek that immobilize and cool the limb, they are only used in postoperative care. Currently, no other technology on the market utilizes variable air pressure to aid in the pre-hospital preservation of limbs and tissue.
TourniTek may double the available time window for saving injured limbs, significantly improving patient outcomes.
VascuSight
A novel automated wearable remote monitoring system to detect internal bleeding and guide resuscitation
VascuSight is designed to help first responders detect internal bleeding and guide resuscitation with accurate, real-time, and continuous data in pre-hospital settings through artificial intelligence/machine learning venous ultrasound assessment.
Why VascuSight?
Currently, the only pre-hospital approaches to guide trauma and burn resuscitation are guess and check methods.
The only hospital-based solutions to assess internal bleeding and resuscitation are invasive, high-risk, costly, and very difficult to interpret; therefore, they require highly trained personnel.
VascuSight eliminates guessing by providing critical data needed to diagnose and treat patients accurately.
VascuSight is the first technology to provide a solution to internal bleeding and resuscitation assessment that is non-invasive, portable, provides continuous monitoring, and can be used by a nurse or medic.
AirBrace is designed to immobilize injured limbs during medical air and ground transport by maintaining consistent pressure regardless of changes in altitude, protecting limbs from deformity and blood loss.
AirBrace
A self-regulating, limb-stabilizing tech to immobilize injured limbs through changing altitude
Why AirBrace?
First responders have routinely used air splints to stabilize injured limbs during medical ground transport, but changes in altitude during air travel have inhibited the use of such splints during medical air transport.
While vacuum splints already exist, they are big, bulky, and heavy. AirBrace is significantly lighter, more portable, and easier to work with.
AirBrace may allow first responders to stabilize injured limbs from the site of injury through the duration of a flight, protecting them from deformity and blood loss and ultimately aid in the prevention of disability, amputation, and even death.
